LSU Recreational Center Renovation and Expansion

A multi-phased project that adds 136,000 + square feet and renovates the existing 121,000 square foot facility over 30 months. The project includes updating the current indoor swimming pool, gutting and redesigning locker rooms, moving administrative offices to the front of the facility, and expanding 13,000 square feet of cardio/weight space to more than 40,000 square feet. It also includes the construction of an eight-lane indoor lap pool, an eight-lane outdoor lap pool, a 536 foot long lazy river spelling out "LSU", and a 21,000 square feet sun deck. Inside, the new Rec Center has a track, approximately 1/3 mile in length.

To accomplish this, the construction team had to completely renovate and expand the Central Utility Plant and Doyle Electric had to add and re-route 13.6 kVA electric and telecommunication utilities, install two (2) SF6 switches, install one (1) 1500 kVA and one (1) 2000 kVA pad-mount transformer, two (2) 2500A main switchboards, and one (1) 150 kW natural gas generator. Doyle Electric's scope of work also included complete telecommunications, audio-visual, and fire alarm systems.
