LSU – New Alex Box Stadium

One of college baseball’s cathedrals, the new Alex Box Stadium is a spacious 9,200-seat ballpark that includes more than 35,000 sq. feet of restrooms, concessions, luxury suites, team areas, and press boxes. The new “Box” also includes a 2,000 sq. foot press box, a 1,900 sq. foot Hall of Fame, and an arcade area for children. The project, which included 15 KV incoming power duct banks, switching and distribution was completed more than two months ahead of the 18-month schedule in spite of a rainy and muddy winter of 2007-2008 that affected 90 days of construction and the landfall of Hurricane Gustav in August 2008. The electrical installation for this state of the art athletic facility included field lighting that is controlled via remote communications, networked lighting controls, fire alarm systems, sound system, generator emergency power and communication and data wiring. An external interface rack allows cable television providers to power up and interface with the facility scoreboard, video and press box.
